Grand Theft Auto V is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. This is the first major entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since the 2008 Grand Theft Auto IV. Located in the fictional state of San Andreas, based in Southern California, the story of a single player follows three criminals and their efforts to commit a gang while being pressured by authorities and powerful criminals. The open world design allows players to roam the open fields of San Andres and the fictional city of Los Santos, based in Los Angeles.
The game is played from a third-person or first-person perspective, and your world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. Players control three main characters for the entire player and cross between them, both during missions and outside. The story is centered on a powerful sequence, and many missions include shooting and driving games. The “desired” system regulates the aggression of law enforcement responses against players who commit crimes. Grand Theft Auto Online, a multiplayer online mode, allows up to 30 players to participate in various cooperative and competing game modes.
Game development began shortly after the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV and was shared in many Rockstar studios around the world. The development team influenced many previous projects, such as Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3, and planned games around the three main characters to renew themselves in the central structure of its predecessors. A large number of development jobs involve the creation of the open world, and some team members conduct field surveys around California to capture photos for the design team. The game’s soundtrack has original results compiled by a team of producers who work together for several years. It was launched in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in November 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and in April 2015 for Microsoft Windows.
Marketed and anticipated, the game broke the industry’s sales record and became the best-selling entertainment product in history, earning $ 800 million initially and $ 1 billion in its first three days. It received critical acclaim, with awards aimed at its design, open world, presentation and gameplay with several protagonists. Yet it raises controversies related to the portrayal of violence and women. Considered one of the most important titles in the seventh and eighth generation console games and among the best video games ever made, it earned the end of the year, including Game of the Year awards from various game publications. It is the second best-selling video game of all time with over 120 million copies delivered and one of the most successful entertainment products of all time, earning around $ 6 billion worldwide.
